What does the "Full Text Finder" button mean that appears on my article search results list?
Answer
When you search for articles in the discovery service, you may see a button for "Full Text Finder" on some of the results. This means that these journals have told our discovery service that, "you can have access to the full text of this journal, but only if you send people directly to our website." Clicking on the "Full Text Finder" button will direct you either to the publisher's or journal's website.
There often will be some extra clicking involved to get to a Full Text Finder article. In some cases the publisher/journal site will not remember the exact article that you found in the discovery service, and you'll be required to do your search again on the new site. For that reason, it's a good idea to right-click on the Full Text Icon, and then choose "open in new tab." That way you won't lose the specific citation information that you found in the discovery service and can use it to locate the article again on the new site.
